John Bourne  entered his first mark with Thomas Moore on the 26th June 1770, his first mark as a spoonmaker was on the 2nd February 1774,l believe this to be his second mark dated 7th May 1774

l cannot be certain that John Bourne is the maker of these tongs.

These Tongs are of a good weight and are very  attractive the way they have been designed, there has been a few small repairs to them which have been very well done, and only under a loupe or macro photography can they be really seen, because of the thiness of the design it is not surprising.

The Bowls on these Tongs are very unusual.
